Welcome to the holiday region of Ruhpolding in the Chiemgau

Surrounded by the scenic Bavarian Alps, our family-run guest house Menkenbauer located on a small hill, just 10 minutes’ walk from the famous health resort of Ruhpolding. It offers holiday amidst Bavarian mountains.

Our main house offers 22 beautifully designed guest rooms. Our König Ludwig rooms are suitable for allergy sufferers and decorated in a modern alpine chic. The bright and airy villa rooms inspire with their typical Bavarian charm. We named them after the famous King Louis II., King of Bavaria, who famously built Schloss Neuschwanstein and Herrenchiemsee. Our comfortable standard rooms are rustic furnished. Almost all rooms have a balcony or terrace with stunning views of the surrounding mountains. Our popular healthy breakfast buffet, offers fresh, local and homemade products for a pleasant start to the day.

In the neighbouring houses our seven individually designed apartments are located which can accommodate one to six persons to 36-95 square meters.

Experience the fascinating and vivid nature of the Chiemgau. Our beautiful Ruhpolding valley offers something for everybody. Over 240 km hiking trails around Ruhpolding offer hikes for each difficulty and the “Almen” (alpine pastures) invite to relax with their homemade delicacies. Mountain bikers and “pleasure cyclists” find a broad route network including beautiful swimming possibilities in our lake district.

Whether pleasurable or sporty, summer or winter, our region offers varied leisure activities for young and old.
